英文摘要 | Leucaena glauca originates in tropical America, It can be used for green manure, cover crop. or hedges. The seeds is Hawaii are used for forage. In Taiwan, it grows well in the east and south regions, but, badly in the red soil of the north even if the soils are inoculated with Rhizobia. Thus, to study the influence on the growth of Leucaena glauca on red soil is the main purpose of this experiment. The results are summarized as follows: (1) It was found that the high acidity of soil would be the main reason why the tested plant does not grow well on red soil. The result indicated that the lower acidity of soil, the higher yield of this legume and the neutral soil gave the best growth of Leucaena glauca. (2) It showed that liming is an important treatment for the growth of Leucaena glauca on acid soil. (3) Inoculation of effective Rhizobia also caused the yield and nitrogen content increased. (4) It is very interesting to note that the application of molybdenum was only extremely benefited to the growth of Leucaena glauca while the plants were inoculated with Rhizobia, but with the exception on acid soil. It seems to be that molybdenum is more available to the nitrogen fixation of Rhizobia, but not to the legume itself. (5) The conclusion can be made in such a way that the best method for the growth of Leucaena glauca on acid soil is liming first, then inoculated with effective strain of Rhizobia combined with the application of molybdenum. |
