英文摘要 | 1. This study was conducted at the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station from the 1st crop of 1956 to the 1st crop of 1959. 2. Fifty new Ponlai varieties of rice were collected from several experimental stations in Taiwan and tested for blast (Piricularia oryzae) resistance under the epidlonic condition at the experimental field of Chiayi Station. The object of this study was tried to select the blast resistant varieties for extension or used for breeding material. 3. Three methods were used to induce blast by natural infection in this study, i.e., a total amount of 1,200 kgms. of ammonium sulphate per hectare was used as topdressing, the experimental field was drained off daring the growing stage, and each plot was surrounded with the most susceptible rice variety (Kuensheng Wu-shiang-kung.) 4. The degree of resistance among different varieties was investigate in the growing season from 1956 to 1959. 5. The results were presented in Tables 1, 2, and 3. The most resistant varieties were Taichung 171, Chianung 242, Chianunyu 411, 428, 478 and Kwentung 51. Except that of Chainung 242, the yields of these resistant varietie were rather low and couldn't be released for growing. But they can be used as parental materials for breeding purpose. 6. The other six varieties including Nungsi 5, Hsinchu 56, Kaohsiung 45, 73, 53, and Miaonung 50 were highly resistant to leaf blast but susceptible to panicle blest. 7. Among the fifty new varieties excepting those memtioned above were susceptible or low-resistance to blast. They were not suitable used for extension or breeding materials. |
