英文摘要 | In the present test,fresh eggs of Giant Danaine Butterfly, Idea Ieuconoe clara (Butler) wereccollected from the host plants in the net room, and was put in the growth chamber with 28 ± 1 ℃, 80 ± 5% RH, 14L:10D controlled condition. Hatching larvae were reared with licoid-stamenal Parsonia, Parsonsia laevigata (Moon) Alston leaves individually. The morph ological description and life history of Giant Danaine Butterfly is given. The body leng-th, head capsule width of each instar larvae, body length of pupa, the wingspan width of adult, and the duration of various developmental stages were also described in this paper The duration of egg is 4.56 ± 0.21 days in average. There are two types of larval stadium, both with four or five instar. In general, the developing period of larvae take 19.36 ± 0.37 days. Each period of five larval instars is 3.00 ± 0.14, 2.60 ± 0.21,3.08 ± 0.22,4.36 ± 0.42,7.85 ± 0.21 days, respectively. the pupal stage is 11.44 ± 0.12 days. According to the research, it takes 35.35 ± 0.47 days from egg to adult emergence. The longevity of adults is about one to three months. |
