英文摘要 | Photonic swiching has been developed to provide unlimited bandwidth and avoid the repeated optical-to-electrical (O/E) and electrical-to-optical (E/O) signal conversions in high-speed communications. The 2×2 electro-optical directional coupler is a common switching element used in photonic switching networks. Due to the imperfect coupling energy in one path through another path, crosstalk occurs. A faulty switch is defined as a switch that produces crosstalk beyond the acceptable level. The characteristic of Dilated Benes Networks (DBNs) is that there are no two active paths that can be used at given time, making measurement easier at output. This paper proposes a diagnostic crosstalk fault algorithm, which can identify single or multiple crosstalk-faulty switches in DBNs. Some possible ad hoc modified diagnostic algorithms are also proposed to avoid the situation when input signal and crosstalk signal both pass through the same output switch. The important feature of the diagnostic process makes automated test generation more complete. Detailed algorithm proofs and examples are given in this paper. |
