英文摘要 | Measurement and predictio of transient natural convection heat transfer for a tank-in- pool type reactor has been reported. The momentum and energy equations for cylindrical coordinates have been solved numerically for a two-dimensional axi-symmetric domain representing the thermal-hydraulic behavior of a typical fuel pin in the actual reactor. Experiments were performed on the Pakistan Research Reactor-2, a typical tank-in -pool type reactor. Temperature profiles, flow patterns and transient responses of Nusselt number for ramp increase in power have been presented. A correlation for Nusselt number based upon the computational results has also been suggested. It has been observed that the fuel temperature for the range of power transients studied remains well below the melting temperature and hence the reactor can be regarded as safe. |
