英文摘要 | For hydraulic structures in compound channels, it is essential to estimate the discharge not only in the main channel, but also on the floodplains. An experimental work was conducted in channels with symmetrical rectangular compound sections to investigate the geometry effect of the cross section on different discharge ratios. It was found that both the main channel width, B, and step height, Z, affected these ratios. Six different models were tested in a laboratory flume for a large range of discharges. The different discharge ratios are related to the relative depth, and general equations are derived for them. Variation of the discharge ratios with the relative depth are generalized by introducing a shape factor for them. |
