中文摘要 | 近年來使用氫鍵以產生新穎的液晶材料,即超級複合分子液晶,已迅速蓬勃發 展。超級複合分子液晶乃經由不同分子間產生非共價鍵結,例如氫鍵,所形成的分子錯合 物。其液晶性質可輕易地經由混合不同的質子予體和質子受體來調整,且新的液晶性質( 異於原來個別成份的液晶性質)可經由超級複合分子結構而獲得。許多含不同種類氫鍵及 不同組成成份的氫鍵結構被開發來穩定液晶相。類似於傳統熱向型液晶或液晶高分子的液 晶材料,例如鐵電液晶、主鏈型液晶高分子、側鏈型液晶高分子、或液晶網狀結構等,均 有可能藉由氫鍵鍵結而產生。由於超級複合分子結構的調整及修飾極為簡易,氫鍵液晶材 料具有潛力應用在未來的顯示器及光電元件上。本文將針對不同類型的氫鍵液晶材料做一 系列的回顧及探討。 |
英文摘要 | Recently, the application of hydrogen bonding in the formation of new liquid crystalline materi als, i.e. suprainolecular liquid crystals, has been rapidly developed. Supramolecular liquid crystals are molecular complexes generated from unlike molecular species through non-covalent interactions, e. g. hydrogen bonding. The mesogenic properties can be easily modified by complexing miscellaneous proton donors and proton acceptors, and new liquid crystalline properties, which are different from those of their original moieties, can be obtained by the supramolecular structures. Many kinds of hydrogen bonds and building elements have been explored in the hydrogen-bonded structures to stabilize the liquid crystalline phases. Liquid crystalline materials similar to traditional thermotropic liquid crystals (LCs) and liquid crystalline polymers (LCPs), such as ferroelectric ILCS, main-chain LCPS, side-chain LCPS, and LC networks, are all possible to be created by hydrogen bonding. Owing to the ease of tailoring and modification of the supramolecular structures, the hydrogen-bonded liquid crystalline materials will have various potential applications in the fields of displays and electro-optical devices. A surmary of various types of hydrogen-bonded liquid crystalline materials.will be reviewed in this article. |
