英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanism of ultrasonic stimulation in enhancing bone fracture healing by using microwave hyperthermia to simulate the thermal effect of ultrasound and measuring the concentration of prostaglandin E (PGE ) in the plasma during the fracture period. It was expectant to determine the relationship between thermal effect and ultrasonic stimulation in enhancing fracture repair, and the role of PGE in the process of fracture repair treated by ultrasound and microwave. The experiment consisted of 30 mature (2.7-3.2kg) male New Zealand white rabbits with bilateral fibular shaft osteotomy, then divided into three groups. Each group was divided into two subgroups, one was normality without aspirin, another was inbibition with aspirin. All the fibular specimens were made by mechanical testing in torsion to assess the degree of fracture healing. The results of this study supported current findings in the literature suggesting that low intensity ultrasound and microwave treatment might have a simulatory effect on bone formation. It was our inference in view of the results that the thermal effect of ultrasound and microwave which had similar temperature distribution might rapidly decrease the concentration of PGE after the osteotomy in order to inhibit the osteoclastic resorption during the fracture repair. Besides the PGE it was probable to enhance fracture healing with another effects. |
