英文摘要 | BL 67, located at the lateral corner of the 5th nail, is supported by acupuncture theory that this acupoint is beneficial for eye problems. So we tried to investigate the correlation between visual cortices and BL67. Nine volunteers applied in this experiment. Data from three methods were compared. Firstly visual stimulation of each volunteer while observing brain cortices using fMRI, secondly acupoint stimulation of BL 67 by needle while observing brain cortices using fMRI, and thirdly non-acupoint stimulation while observing brain cortices using fMRI. The results of acupuncture stimulation were distinct and similar to visual stimulation. But when stimulation of non-acupoint was performed, there were no clear changes at the same cortices of brain. This leads to the conclusion that this change of the visual cortices was done specifically through stimulation of BL67. We dare to say that this method can help open the secrets of the mechanism of acupuncture. |
