英文摘要 | This paper presents the design of log-structured file system on a specific multi-processor architecture. The basic concept of this system is to improve the overall file system performance, as well as system reliability. There are three principles provided: (1) By stripping file data across multiple disks, which are managed by Disk Processors, the file transfer rate is not limited by the performance of a single disk. (2) By dividing file processing into two levels (logical level and physical level), it greatly reduces the impact of disk I/O on file accesses. (3) By the log-structured storage management and the internal transaction protocol between the two levels, the consistency of file data stored in all disks can be restored when system crash occurs. |
