中文摘要 | 美國公共圖書館長期以來對其社區民眾提供高品質的生活服務,尤其在終生學習與素養教育方面。圖書館利用其現有資源與設備,舉辦各種素養與學習的活動,這些活動包括提供素養課程方面的圖書館館藏,成人教育課程,提供微電腦軟體,及與其他機構共同參與舉辦各種素養活動。素養教育能培養個人的自學能力及獨立思考精神,進而攡有讀、寫、算、聽的基本技能。經由圖書館與終生學習機構的共同合作,素養教育的課程與資源將更為豐富。隨著環境與科技的演進,公共圖書館素養教育的課程也跟著改變,以適應未來的社會生活,並達成終身學習的目標。本研究主要探討美國公共圖書館在成人教育中所扮演的角色及其素養教育的發展情形。 |
英文摘要 | Public libraries have worked steadily to contribute to the betterment of the quality of life for all citizens, especially in the areas of lifelong learning and literacy. These library literacy and learning programs have developed for illiteracy adults through literacy activities. Literacy collections, adult education classes, microcomputer software and cooperative efforts with other educational agencies are part of literacy activities. According to the Appalachian Adult Education Center (AAEC), the clientele includes adults with less than high school education and in most instances with low incomes. Literacy education affects the distribution of knowledge and can result in individuals and groups demanding a new status in their society. Through public library collaboration with lifelong learning services, literacy programs and resources will be in abundance. This study concentrates on the role and program of public libraries in adult education, especially in relation to literacy. |
