英文摘要 | In the past few decades, developments in the instrumental methods have significantly improved the detection limits for organic gunshot residues. Significant improvements have also been made in sampling and clean-up procedures for gunshot residues. This article first briefly reviewed the organic constituents of gunshot residues. The subsequent focus was on the sampling and sample pretreatment procedures. Finally, the analytical methods for the identification and characterization of organic gunshot residues were extensively reviewed. The early methods were qualitative color tests and were not sufficiently specific. Thin -layer chromatography was successfully applied to the characterization of gunpowders, but its applicability to gunshot residue detection was not further pursued due to lack of sensitivity. If a more sensitive detection method such as fluorescence detection and be used, it is worthwhile reconsidering the application of TLC to organic residue detection. Several instrumental analytical methods have been demonstrated as having potential for organic residue detection. They are all based on a chromatographic technique with an appropriate detection method. Although some useful GC researches have been conducted, HPLC has been more widely applied. The feasibility of the application of tow newer chromatographic methods, supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) and micellar electrokinetic capillary electrophoresis (MECE), has been preliminarily investigated. SFC is ideally suitable for analysis of some thermally lablile or nonvolatile explosives and is virtually compatible with all detectors used by GC and HPLC. The separation efficiency of SFC is higher than that of HPLC. MECE is a highly efficient separation technique and is ideally suitable for the separation of complex mixtures. |
