中文摘要 | 大學教育的目的,除了在培養具有工作謀生能力的國民之外,亦在培養 懂得生活並有高瞻遠矚眼光的知識份子。然而由於社會上功利主義盛行,大學教 育的過份專業化及過於偏重知識技能的傳授,使得在培養具健全完整人格、懂得 生活、關心社會並具創造活力的知識份子這方面,尚未達到理想。 為了使我國教育在實質上有所改變,過去十年來通識教育課程被賦以重任。目 前,各大學通識教育課程已相當普遍,亦不乏成功的範例。但是,其間仍存在許 多問題,諸如通識課程常被視為營養學分,課程整體規劃不夠週全、師資普遍不 足、教育部規定之學分限制了發展、課程設計尚待斟酌等,均有待研究並加以改 善。 進一步分析顯示,上述問題有些是屬於課程架構方面的,有些是屬於法令規章 的,有些是屬於觀念溝通的。除了針對國內各大學通識教育所遭受的各樣困難瓶 頸加以深入分析外,本文亦參考國內外大學通識教育之實施情況,加以比較思 考,期望能自整體教育架構上重新確立通識教育在我國大學教育中的地位及功 能,並從策略規劃的角度,以長遠的眼光為我國大學通識教育研擬適合之組織、 功能加構,以及具體可行之方案。 |
英文摘要 | It is generally considered that the goal of university education is notonly for the preparation of capable workers but also for creating intellectualswith vision and wisdom. However, pragmatism prevailed in our society andthe extremely specialized professional trainings in the universities oftenblocked the path to reach the ideal university education. Therefore, thegeneral education (liberal education) program was identified, designed andpromoted with the ultimate goal of reforming our university education.Indeed, the efforts of the past ten years have brought out many successfulexamples. However, serious problems also emerged simutaneously.Through careful analysis of the current problems and comparing the generaleducation programs of universities worldwide, an evaluation andreconstruction plan of general education in university education systems isproposed. Feasible protocols are also suggested based on the viewpoints ofstrategic and long term plannings. |
