英文摘要 | Many organisms construct organic/inorganic composites from seemingly mundane materials; cell-mediated processes which control both the nucleation and growth of mineral and development of compostie microarchitecture. Living systems fabricate organic/inorganic composites by (i) confining biomineralization within specific subunit compartments, (ii) producing a specific mineral with defined crystal size and orientation, and (iii) packaging many increment unit together to form fully densified and macroscopic structures. By learning and adopting the principles of biological structure and their natural forming beauty, material swcientists can reproduce these processes in vitro. Results in this investigation can provide further insight into design principles of novel material development. |
