英文摘要 | The thermal-hydraulic phenomena of inadequate core cooling caused by a series of cold leg small break loss of coolant accident (SBLOCA) have been investigated experimentally at the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER) Integral System Test (IIST) facility. The experiments were performed under the conditions of different break sizes (0.5% and 2%) in the cold leg followed by the failure of high pressure injection system (HPIS). The measures of depressurization and cooldown the primary system are to implement the bleed-and-feed operation in the steam generator secondary side. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the effectiveness of early initiated recovery action on reactor safety and to enhance the understanding of the related thermal-hydraulic phenomena. The initiation criterion for the recovery action is determined by the water levels in pressure vessel (core top and 90% of core heated zone) instead of the core exit temperature as it attained to 649℃ based on the current emergency operating procedure (EOP) in Westinghouse-type PWR. The results showed that the early initiated secondary bleed-and-feed operation can minimize the risk of core damage since it is valid to prevent core heat-up throughout the transient. In addition, it suffers rather moderate thermal stress during the cooldown process. The impact of ECC bypass is a dominant phenomenon for the cold leg SBLOCA, therefore, the early initiated recovery is indispensable. |
