英文摘要 | Since Eastern Han dynasty, the Clan Dou has been a preeminent household in military affairs. Due to a failed coup d'etat in AD 168, part of the Clan Dou members fled to the domain of Hsien-pei, and led a tribal life. In the middle period of Northern Wei, they moved to northern China and served at central goverment. At the moment of great chaos in the end of the empire, the clan Dou chose the western regime for their loyalty, and was still active in military sphere, then soon became a member household of Kuan-Lung Bloc, which constituted the nucleus of the regime. Down to the Suei and early T'ang, the Dou members contributed to a series of military victories which were essential to the erection of Suei and T'ang Empire. The new noble usually possessed conjugal ties with royal household that enhanced the superiority of their political career. But, during the reign of Empress Wu, another ruling class gradually replaced the Clan Dou. |
