英文摘要 | Several simplifying assumptions are made in the traditional analysis of seismic measurements for engineering purposes. These assumptions include assuming plane wave propagation, measurement of far-field waves only, and independence of the time-arrival measurements from the amount of material damping. An analytical of two-dimensional body waves is presented in this paper to study the effects of the near-field term, material damping, and the Poisson's ratio on the waveforms recorded, especially on the time arrivals. It was found that for the range of distances and frequencies typically used in engineering applications, the near-field term will cause problem in determining the correct SV-wave velocity while it will distort some portion of the waveform for a P-wave motion. The material damping will cause a higher apparent wave velocity for all wave motions. |
