英文摘要 | The absorption of SO₂ into drops of 1.0N HCl solution was studied in an absorption column at room temperature to determine the liquid-phase physical mass transfer coefficients. The diameters of drops were 0.279 and 0.444cm. The gas mixture consisted of 3,000 or 9,000 ppm SO₂, saturated water vapor, and nitrogen. The liquid-phase physical mass transfer coefficients of drops were found to be independent of gas phase SO₂ concentration, drop falling velocity, and contact time. Experimental data were compared with predictions of different models. For drops in the size range 0.06 to 0.6 cm dia., the data of this study and those available in the literature agree well with the penetration model, or the surface stretch model without the effect of the amplitude of the surface stretch, with drop surface lifetimes being in the range of time for one to three cycles of drop oscillation with a mean value of 0.64 cycles. |
