英文摘要 | Effects of different amounts as well as different sources of caloric intake on amino acid metabolism were studied with dogs. The blood urea nitrogen level, the extent of nitrogen retention and the plasma amino acid concentration were observed following parenteral infusion of 3 different formulas. Results of the study revealed that increase of the caloric intake lead to an improvement on amino acid utilization without regard to the sources of energy substrates. Although plasma amino acid concentration varied in varying levels of caloric intake, quite similar plasma amino acid patterns were observed in the dogs which received a same level of caloric intake, either with glucose alone or with both glucose and fat. These findings suggested that fat had an effect similar to that of glucose on amino acid utilization. Besides,it suggested that plasma amino acid concentration was affected by total energy available rather than by insulin alone. |
