英文摘要 | This paper starts the discussion about the beginning of all things through five examples, first, Confucian's idea about “Tien,” second, Laotzu's concept of Tao, third, the ancient Greek philosophers' definition of the “divine,” and fourth, the ancient Hebrews' thought about Yaweh, and fifth, modern science's assumption of the Big Bang. Then we generalize all the ideas and claim that the existence of the universe or of all things has indeed its source. As for the power that mediate the source of all things, it should be vitality, wisdom, and the ultimate substance that possess multiple virtues. People on earth, especially those involved in the five examples and even the scholars who bring out the theories (like the Big Bang) actually interpret such an ultimate substance form a analogical and personified, personal perspective. Consequently, they come up with terms like “Tien,” “Dao,” “God,” the “Creator” and so on. Actually, the writer believes that the ultimate substance should characterized by features like vitality, wisdom and accordingly claims that all these point the same creator, the same (true) god or the same existential foundation of 萬有. “He” rather than “It” can be referred to as the source of all beings, while He is indeed the source of all life and the source of non-living matters. |
