中文摘要 | 本研究在解析天然生臺灣山毛櫸(Fagus hayatae)樹輪特徵值,以瞭解樹木在林分中的生長變化,提供作為樹木生態保育之參考。結果顯示平均樹輪寬度(RW)、早材寬度、晚材寬度、樹輪密度(RD)、早材密度、晚材密度、一個樹輪內最高密度、一個樹輪內最低密度、晚材率等九個特徵值,在兩個林分林型、三種樹冠級(優勢、中勢、劣勢木),並將徑向由髓心到樹皮分成四個片段,有顯著性的差異存在。RW在徑向從髓心開始往樹皮方向,是先逐漸下降到約第20-30個樹輪,之後,大致維持一定大小到樹皮側的樹輪;而RD在徑向從髓心開始往樹皮方向,是先逐漸增加到約第10-30個樹輪,之後,逐漸降低樹皮側的樹輪。另外,優勢木及中勢木的RW在徑向的變異性與被壓木的變化趨勢是不同的。整體來看,較寬的樹輪及較密的樹輪密度是出現在接近髓心的未成熟材區域,然而,較窄的樹輪及較低的樹輪密度是出現在接近樹皮側的成熟材區域(被壓木除外)。優勢木的樹輪密度較中勢木及被壓木的樹輪密度低,然而,優勢木的樹輪寬度較中勢木及被壓木的樹輪寬度大。綜合結果指出臺灣山毛櫸的生長(RW)及樹輪結構(RD)受到不同林分林型、樹冠級(生長)、樹輪徑向位置(年齡)的影響。整體來說,成熟材與未成熟材的境界約從髓心往外的第20-30個樹輪位置。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to explore the ring characteristics of natural Fagus hayatae trees grown in two natural stands in Taiwan. Significant differences in mean ring width (RW), earlywood width, latewood width, ring density (RD), earlywood density, latewood density, highest density, lowest density, and latewood percentage were observed within the 2 sites, taking into account 3 tree crown classes, and 3- 4 segments of radial section. Sum up RW in the radial direction decreased gradually from pith outward to about 20- 30th rings and then remained almost constant toward the bark. In addition, the RD in the radial direction gradually increased from pith outward to about 10- 30th rings and then gradually decreased toward the bark. However, the overall trajectories of RW radial dynamic in dominant and intermediate trees were different compared with suppressed tree. Here we present results of a tree ring study on Taiwan beech in a warm temperature forest. We found difference in RW and RD of Taiwan beech between juveniles and matures. There is RW of juvenile wider than that of mature, but RD of juvenile is higher than that of matures. The RD was lower in the dominant trees than that in the overtopped or/and intermediate trees; however, the RW was wider in the dominant trees than that in the intermediate and overtopped trees. The tree RW (tree growth) was not correlated and had no strong relationship with tree RD. The results suggest that the 2 sites, 3 tree crown classes, and different ring positions all effect on the growth rate (ring width) and ring structure (ring density) of Taiwan beech trees. Overall, the position of demarcation between juvenile and mature wood occurred at about 20- 30th rings from pith. |
