英文摘要 | Leing Ping-kwan (Ye si) was a poet, writer, and an educator, whose works include poems, essays, fictions, and cultural commentaries. He published his poems under his real name and aimed to use them to raise Hong Kong people’s cultural awareness. This idea is shown in his collection of poems, Vegetable Politics. This article focuses on the diet poems included in the collection, observing aspects concerning the poet’s writing. Mostly, this article discusses the external forms of the poems, namely the structure and embodiment of figure of speech. Secondarily, this article points out and discusses the four main emotional aspects implied in the collection: the interpretation of life, the care for the society, the landscapes of foreign countries, and post-colonial culture, with the support of the analyses of the poems. |
