中文摘要 | 本研究調查國小高年級學童學業成績和體適能表現與自尊的關係,並比較兩者和自尊關係的差異。研究對象為中部某國小五、六年級所有學生618人(男生300人、女生318人),收集兩次月考成績、測量五項體適能項目(身體質量指數、坐姿體前彎、立定跳遠、仰臥起坐、800公尺跑走)、使用Rosenberg自尊量表測孩童自尊。結果顯示學業成績和自尊顯著正相關(r=0.17, p<.05),而五項體適能指標和自尊的關係皆不顯著,表示學業成績和自尊的關係較高。使用交叉表分析得高學業成績高體適能56人、高學業低體適能38人、低學業高體適能34人、低學業低體適能48人,單因子變異數分析(post hoc Tukey)結果顯示無論體適能高或低,「高學業成績」族群的自尊程度顯著高於「低學業成績」族群的自尊程度。 |
英文摘要 | This study investigates the predictions of the academic and physical fitness performance on self-esteem for the fifth and sixth graders, and compares the two predictions. From an elementary school in the middle of Taiwan, all the fifth and sixth 618 students were recruited. Their scores of the mid-term and final exams were collected as measures of academic achievement; the measures of physical fitness included body composition, sit and reach, standing long jump, sit-ups, and 800-meter run. The self-esteem was measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Pearson correlation coefficient analyses showed that academic achievement and self-esteem were significantly related (r=0.17, p<.05). The five indicators of physical fitness were not significantly related to self-esteem. That is, the influence of academic achievement on self-esteem was greater than that of physical fitness. Further, by using a cross-table analysis, four groups were derived: high academic achievement and high physical fitness (56 people), high academic but low physical performance (38 people), low academic but high physical performance (34 people), and low in both (48 people). The analysis of variance (post hoc Tukey) showed that the self-esteem in the high-academic-achievement group was higher than that in the low-academic-achievement group no matter the physical fitness was high or low. |
