英文摘要 | Count of migratory raptors was conducted at Kenting National Park in autumn 2011. The goal was to continue long-term monitoring of migratory raptors in this area , with emphasis on Gray-faced Buzzard ("Butastur indicus") and Chinese Goshawk ("Accipiter soloensis"). Each day, 2 counters observed from 05:30 to 12:00 at She-Ding Nature Park. From September 1 to October 31, 15 species of migratory raptors were recorded including 45,666 Gray-faced Buzzards and 117,805 Chinese Goshawks. 90% of Chinese Goshawks passed Kenting in 33 days between September 15 and October 17, 7 days longer than the average 26 days since 2004. Daily peak passage hours were between 06:00 and 08:00, comprising 49.9% of all Chinese Goshawks. 90% of Gray-faced Buzzards passed Kenting between October 10 and October 20. Daily peak passage hours were between 05:00 to 07:00, comprising 67.7% of all buzzards. Population trends for different species were different since 2004. The Grey-faced Buzzards had increased while Chinese Goshawks and Oriental Honey-buzzards had decreased. These changes could be due to yearly population variation, weather impact on their routes and other factors that need future studies. |
