英文摘要 | The central part of the Hsuehshan Rang have been studied for over forty years ago , but still lacks a regional geological map to present detail stratigraphy and their structure, especially the relationship among the meso-scale structure, regional structure and stratigraphy. The present study focus on detail geological mapping and analysis of small-scale geological structures in the upper reaches of the Ta-anchi River in order to unravel the stratigraphy as weel as the regional structural pattern. Stratigraphic units exposed in this area include the Paileng Formation, the Chiayang Formation, the Shuichangliu Formation, the Meichi Sandstone and the Lushan Formation. Based on the fossil records the Paileng Formation is early to middle Eocene in age. The Chiayang Formation and the Shuichangliu Formation although expose in the east and the west of this area repectively, have the similar lithology and age that may be late Oligicene to early Miocene. The Mechi Sandstone is conformable with the underlying Chiayang Formation and the overlying Lushan Foramtion. The megascopic structural pattern of the Paileng Formation exhibits several anticlinoriums and synclinoriums, and there are folds that control the strata and their distribution in the study area. In addition, the folding mechanism is dominantly by buckling that construct the polyhamonic folds by folds with various wavelength and amplitude. |
