英文摘要 | Code-switching, or language mixing, a switch from one language to another, is a widely observed phenomenon in bilingual or multilingual communities. The usefulness of L1, or code-switching, in the ELT classroom has also recently been recognized. This paper introduces several topics of code-switching often discussed in the literature, including the learning setting that best supports code-switching and the functionality of code-switching in teaches’ as well as students’ classroom discourses. Finally, weak and strong parts of code-switching in the ESL/EFL language classrooms will be discussed, along with the perspectives of critical pedagogy. |
