英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding addictive drugs among university students. 398 students were sampled from two universities in eastern Taiwan and 352 valid questionnaires were fulfilled. The results showed that 74.83% of the knowledge questions regarding addictive drugs were answered correctly. The psychological aspect questions had the highest correct ratio of 89.25%, followed by the physiological aspect questions (77.13%), basic concept questions (71.50%), and sociological aspect questions (67.00%). The major sources of the university students’ knowledge regarding addictive drugs are television (88.64%), and magazines and newspapers (57.39%). Positive correlation is exhibited between knowledge and attitudes regarding addictive drugs (r = .24, p < 0.05). It means that university students with high knowledge regarding addictive drugs are less likely to use addictive drugs. This study suggests that it is essential to educate our students to realize that producing, selling, and using addictive drugs are not only illegal, but will cause them to face very serious legal verdicts. As to future researches, it is recommended that more samples from different sites with a combination of observation, in-depth interviews, and physical tests can be used to improve the research design. |
