中文摘要 | 本研究調查彰化縣近郊之國民小學中第一年開始修習英語之學童其英語學習成就和英語學習動機與英語學習策略與英語學習成就之狀況。本研究發現:如文獻顯示所預期,英語學習動機與英語學習策略可預測英語學習成就,而值得注意的是集群分析之結果顯示受試者可依英語學習成就和英語學習動機與英語學習策略分成兩組有意義的群組,其中一組在三個變項上皆高於另一組,如何可拉近兩組的差距應是亟待努力的目標。另外,研究結果也顯示多數學生尚未能掌握學習英語的有效方法,同時在多數學生的認知上,學習英語也非一件有趣的事,這兩個現象的原因及如何謀求改進之道將是後續研究應探討的問題。 |
英文摘要 | The study examines the fifth graders' English learning motivation, their use of English learning strategies and their English achievements in the suburb of Chang-hwa county. The results show that English learning motivation and the frequency of English learning strategies can predict a student's English achievement as expected, and, the students can be clustered into two groups with significant difference in terms of the frequencies of English strategies use, the degrees of English learning motivation and English achievements with one group comparatively higher on all three variables than the other group. How to bridge the gap will be an important task for the educators. The study also finds that neither group has used English learning strategies very often and, most of the students do not think it is interesting to study English. The possible explanations for these findings and, what will be the effective strategies to improve the situations require further investigation. |
