英文摘要 | Background: We evaluated the ability of Tc-99m- hexamethylpropyleneamine oxime (Tc-g9m HMPAO) labeled white blood cells (WBCs), especially neutrophils, to serve as a detector of adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Methods: An experimental canine model of ARDS was designed using injection of 1 μg/kg of Escherichia colt (E. colt) endotoxin and 15μg/kg of phorbol myristate acetate (PMA). We investigated whether dogs showed high uptake of Tc-99m HMPAO WBCs in the lungs, and tested the correlation between several parameters of severe ARDS and the lung-to-spleen ratios of the Tc-99m HMPAO WBC scans individually. Results: The lungs demonstrated high uptake of Tc-99m HMPAO WBCs, which occurred 60 minutes after injection of E. coil endotoxin and PMA. The mean lung-to-spleen ratio of Tc-99m HMPAO WBC activity of the right lung in the dog which received E. colt endotoxin and PMA injection was significantly higher than that of the normal control group (1.196±0.200 vs. 0.291 ±0.036, p<0.001). In addition, a positive correlation was noted between the parameters of severe ARDS, including pulmonary arterial pressure, wet to dry lung weight ratios and the albumin concentration in lung lavage fluid, and the lung-to-spleen ratios of the WBC scans. Conclusion: These findings suggest that Tc-99m HMPAO WBC scan has the potential to be a sensitive detector of ARDS. |
