英文摘要 | Traditional zone control charts (ZCC and ZCCo) provide better out-of- control average run lengths (ARLs) than several Shewhart charts. However, these zone control charts sacrifice too much in-control ARLs which leads to high false alarm rate. Modified zone control charts with (-1,0,1) and (-2,-1,0,0,1,2) scoring schemes and different rules are created in this study to improve both in-control and out-of-control ARLs. The ARLs of both modified zone control charts have been compared to those of ZCC, ZCCp, Shewhart chart, Shewhart with run rule of seven, and Shewhart with Western Electronic (WE) Rules. Results show that using (-1,0,1) with h=5 and rule 2, the in-control ARL as well as small shift ARLs (shift < 0.7s) are better than those of ZCCo. In addition, with little sacrifice in in-control ARL, chart using (-2,-1,0,0,1,2) with h=4 and rule 1 has better ARLs for detecting any shift size than ZCCo. Therefore, when small shifts as well as in-control ARLs are important, chart using (-1,01) with h=5 and rule 2 is recommended. When all shifts are important, chart using (-2,-1,0,0,1,2) with h=4 and rule 1 is recommended. |
