英文摘要 | Huey-neng, the Sixth Patriach of Zen Buddhism, was an illiterate. When he was young, he was a woodcutter. Then he went to pay homage to the Fifth Patriarch. At last he inherited the position of Patriarch. He developed the thought of Zen Buddhism and influenced the Chinese culture. Own to Huey-neng had realized Essence of Mind, he spoke out the stanza that read: There is no Bodhi-tree, Nor stand of a mirro bright, Since all is void, Where can the dust alight? The Fifth Patriarch knew Huey-neng understood the Essence of Mind. Therefore at midnight, he transmitted Huey-neng the Dharma as well as the robe and the begging bowl. The article would discuss the meaning of Huey-neng’s Staza and explain that why “there is no Bodhi-tree” and “all is Void” to comprehend the real world of Huey-neng’s mind. |
