英文摘要 | A feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of protein and energy contents on growth and feed utilization of iuvenile Zacco barbata. Six diet groups with two protein levels (35% and 25%) were used in the experiment. The energy levels of 3.3, 3.7, and 4.2 kcal/g were formulated for diets containing 35% protein. Diets with 25% protein contained 2.9, 3.3, and 3.7 kcal/g energy. The experimental diets were fed to satiation in triplicate to groups of juvenile Zacco barbata weighing approximately 0.32 g for eight week. Weihgt gains of the fish were not different (p>0.05) among treatments. Feed conversion ratios of fish fed high protein (35%) diets were significantly better (p<0.05) than those fed low protein (25%) diets. Whereas, protein efficiency ratios of fish fed low protein diets were significantly higher (p<0.05) than fish fed high protein diets, regardless the energy content. Body compositions of test fish were not different or all dietary groups except that the protein content was the lowest for fish fed the highest energy diet. The results of this study indicated that when Zacco barbata were fed to satiation, the 25% protein diets with energy contents of 2.9 to 3.7 kcal/g wee adequate to achieve similar growth as those fed 35% protein diets containing energy from 3.3 to 4.2 kcal/g. |
