英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to investigate what factors affect Taiwanese students' language learning strategy use and what strategies that good and poor language learners use. A total of 224 cadets at the Chinese Military Academy (CMA) served as subjects, including 15 females and 209 males. A case study is used as the research methodology. The research instrument is a questionnaire dealing with students' orientation, attitude, motivational intensity, belief about foreign language learning, language learning strategies, and foreign language classroom anxity. The reliability of each is.80,. 81,.85,.61,.97,and.84, respectively. Along with descriptive statistics of mean, standard deviation, and frequencies, Tukey Test, and Multiple Regression Analysis were computed by spss (Statistical Package for the Social Science) version 5.0. Findings include the factors affecting students' language achievement, and students' choice of strategy use, as well as the strategies used by good and poor language learners. In addition, the comparisons and contrasts of strategy use among language learners of FL, ESL, and EFL are described in details. |
