英文摘要 | This article considers a number of views and definitions of job evaluation and differentiates the concept from others. such as performance appraisal, management by objectives. merit rating systems, job enrichment and job enlargement. It identifies the advantages of systematic job evaluation, and considers the mutual benefits to employees and organisations alike. It identifies the environmental factors such as changes in technology and growth in the size of organisations which give rise to a need for job evaluation. Consideration is given to the necessary, steps in introducing job evaluation to avoid opposition or the alienation of the workforce. The roles of the personnel department. outside consultants and the trade unions are considered. Emphasis is placed on the need for a periodic audit of job evaluation programmes. |
