英文摘要 | This paper presents a mathematical model of piping systems. This model can be used to calculate the positions and orientations of the pipe elements and to construct geometry constraint equations of three-dimensional piping systems. A coordinate transformation method is used to calculate the direction cosines of a vector relative to a global coordinate system. The direction cosines are used as weighting factors to automatically construct the geometry constraint equations of piping systems in x, y, and z directions. Such position and orientation information is needed for pipe routing design automation. The constraint equations can be used to determine associated dimension changes when modification to a certain pipe element dimension is proposed. |
