英文摘要 | In the analysis of flow past a supercavitating hydrofoil, a cavity closure model must be employed in order to make the mathematical formulation close and the solution unique. In the present study, we employed a simple closure model which specified a close cavity with a constant pressure distribution on its surface. Without loss of engineering significance, this model is simple in terms of its simplicity of numerical implementation. The present study treated the problem in a nonlinear manner, in the sense that the cavity surface, where the dynamic boundary condition is specified, is a part of the solution. Some numerical experiments with this model were carried out and the results compared with those obtained by using different closure models. Careful investigation shows that the present approach is robust and reliable as far as engineering applications are concerned. |
